Garšars Icy Fingers
We had some rainy days as we reached Garšar at Vik on the most southern mainland on Iceland. The day before i took this photo was grey, windy and rainy. I tried my luck in the next morning. Conditions haven“t really changed. It still was rainy, windy and cold.
As the sunrise gave no color this morning, I used a pink algae lying around as a color blob. Armed with my umbrella finally this dramatic shot emerged. It“s nearly a sinister monochrom photo with an exhilarating smudge of pink.
In the end i found this has been perfect conditions for such a gloomy location.
According to legend, the rocks are petrified trolls who tried to bring a ship to shore. I“m glad those trolls found such a beautiful beach to go ashore
My photos are made for large fine art prints. If you are interested please contact me: firstname.lastname@example.org
